Richard Rubin

Richard Rubin is a graduate of Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa, and was awarded his Ph.D. from Columbia University, where he taught political science as an assistant professor. After Columbia, Richard was a professor at Swarthmore College, teaching Political Science and Public Policy, and was the Director of the Public Policy Program.

As a collector of contemporary art and sharing an interest in politics and psychoanalysis, Richard befriended Robert Motherwell, was the co-executor of his will, and was selected by Motherwell as the first President of the Dedalus Foundation. He served as President from 1991-2002, when he became Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he holds today. Among his publications are Press, Party, and Presidency (W.W. Norton), and Party Dynamics (Oxford University Press).
