The following should be added to the commentary for Untitled, 1971 on page 124:
Over the course of Motherwell’s collaboration with Erker-Presse, numerous images were created and considered for lithography. Though some of these were extensively developed and advanced in proofing formats, none, other than those catalogued in the print raisonne went forward into production and final editioning. In all but a small number of proofs, these impressions were unsigned and unnumbered. A substantial portion of this material was given to Motherwell by Erker-Presse at the conclusion of their work and is now part of the Dedalus Foundation print archive.
Pages 316-330, CR 387.1-27 and CR 388-414
The following should be added to the commentary for Three Poems on page 317:
The complex nature of the three part project titled “Three Poems” required extensive proofing to arrive at the final collated formats for the book and the two portfolio editions. Consequently, this process generated a large body of unsigned archival material related to all three formats, which is not part of the final editioning authorized by the artist. See pages 316–343 for additional documentation.
