Comments
Based on a 1975 collage with the same title, Bastos was an elaborately staged project that introduced Motherwell to working on prints in a dramatically larger size, comparable to that of his collage works of the mid-1970s. At the time it was made, it represented the largest sheet size that could be accommodated on a hand press.
