This print and cat. nos. 528-532 represent the last six images Motherwell worked on before his death. The elaborate staging of the project was organized by Bruce Porter, who brought proofs to Motherwell's Greenwich, Connecticut, studio for review. Motherwell intended to copublish editions with Porter following the completion of these six prints.

This print is based on Untitled (Blue with Brown on Beige), a collage from 1990 (illustrated above). The image size of the print is 28 x 22 1/2 in. (71.1 x 57.2 cm).
