Motherwell began working on this image in 1987. This image appears in each of the three formats as follows: in the illustrated book as a cover embellishment, in the portfolio with text opposite the colophon page, and in the portfolio without text as a cover embellishment and as a loose sheet. It utilizes the same plate as Wind (cat. no 429) printed with a red background.
