Untitled (Blue and Yellow Elegy Drawing) was the maquette for this print. The drawing was executed in 1980 on Mylar film and is distinguished by transparent applications of thinned acrylic paint. The horizontal proportions of the composition recall Motherwell's mural paintings of the 1950s.
