The Dedalus Foundation is pleased to host a conversation and reception for Bridging Communities Through Socially Engaged Art.

Edited by Alice Wexler and Vida Sabbaghi, the book offers fresh and innovative approaches to the arts in education and society.

Including twenty-seven diverse case studies of socially-engaged art practice with groups like the Black Lives Matter movement, the LGBTQ community, and Rikers Island, this book guides art educators toward innovative, transdisciplinary, and diverse methodologies. A valuable resource on creating spaces for change, it addresses the relationships between artists and educators, museums and communities.

The speakers will discuss the role of the arts in relation to social justice, equity, and protection of the environment, and will examine the relationships between artists and educators, museums and communities.
