Edited by Okwui Enwezor, Naomi Beckwith, Massimiliano Gioni, Glenn Ligon, and Mark Nash this landmark publication contain an important collection of artworks and essays that collectively speak to the urgency of the moment as our country grapples with its legacy of brutality towards Black Americans and indifference to Black grief.

This catalogue will undoubtedly stand as an important document and will long be referred to for its acute analysis of contemporary social, cultural and political life in the United States. The exhibition and catalogue are curator Okwui Enwezor’s (1963-2019) final work and serve as a poignant reminder of his extraordinary life and legacy.
