sair goetz (The Ohio State University) is a recipient of the 2017 Master of Fine Arts Fellowship in Painting & Sculpture.
goetz states “I make art compelled by things that matter, things that exhibit their matter, and the signifiers that connect these matters.” Their art manifests as sculpture, video, performance, and instructional texts that address pertinent issues including sexual violence, global warming, and the way popular media constructs gender. Through their work, goetz blends strategies of conceptual art, speculative fiction and reenactment to queer the way words build reality.
