Yacine Fall (Yale University) is the recipient of a 2024 Master of Fine Arts Fellowship in Painting & Sculpture.
Yacine Fall is an interdisciplinary performance artist and sculptor who has exhibited works in venues such as Essex Gallery NY, African Center, and the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art. Her work is equally physical and conceptual and develops through repetition, ritual, history, intimacy with materials, and labor. Her Senegalese/Mauritanian roots guide her interest in challenging and or reinforcing the concept of function through ritual practices, while investigating the tapestry of black womanhood, the diaspora, and its ties to the global community and the natural environment.
